Founded in 2015, DesiKhan is the only manufacturer in Korea to develop a desiccant for automotive lamps that helps prevent condensation from forming inside automobile lamps.

Major customers are SL Lighting and Hyundai Mobis, which are ranked at the top of the global automotive lamp companies. All Korean automotive lamps of Hyundai and Kia Motors produced after 2017, and overseas automobile lamps such as Mercedes and GM are also equipped with DesiKhan products.

Moisture in automobile lamps is a chronic problem of automobiles and accounts for the largest proportion of claims. Previously, anti-fogging coating technology was applied to solve this problem, but Japanese-made materials had to be imported and used, and expensive equipment was required for coating.

DesiKhan developed the product through three years of research and development and quality performance tests, and has been selected as a high-tech product by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The desiccant showed more than twice the moisture absorption function and safety after moisture absorption as a result of a performance test comparison with that of a Japanese automobile desiccant.

An official from Desican said, “The reason why DesKhan succeeded with a desiccant for automobile lamps is thanks to continuous technology development and quality control. We have made more than 70 technical meetings with our customers for more than two years, tested more than 350 times, and made more than 36,000 samples used, and we are still conducting actual vehicle tests to verify and improve performance.”
