My dream was to become an aviation mechanic by majoring in mechanical engineering at Korea Aerospace University. But while I was working on the control system operation in the military, computer programming was fun.

After I was discharged from the army, in 2001, Human Resources Development Service of Korea applied for an overseas dispatch project of IT talent and went to Japan. I have worked for five years as a statistical analysis team developer for a company called Imperial Databank, a Japanese credit research firm.

He started a business after returning to Korea. That's Evain right now.” Young-joong Yoon, CEO of Evain, talked about his founding story calmly.

Evain is an application developer and operator of the “Moyaibeonho” application that provides a spam call shield service.

'Moyaibeonho' shows information about a phone number that is not stored in the user's mobile phone when a call comes from an unknown number. It prevents damage to spam calls by sharing data to users based on the information entered by the application users.

“I wanted to develop a service that helps social problems, not a service that makes money. There were cases of spam call damage, which was a social issue at the time, and we started wanting to contribute a little to society with the IT technology that we can do best. The application developed as a solution for that is Moyaibeonho”

The spam call shield app 'Moyaibeonho' has exceeded 1 million downloads within three months after launch, and over 10 million spam numbers are registered.

Since Evain has accumulated the most spam phone number data and provided spam call blocking service for a long time, the accuracy of the data can be said to be much higher than that of other companies.

“In addition to eradicating spam calls, we want to create a phone culture what callers can first reveal the purpose of the call. I think we can be free from spam calls only when the IT technology and culture that can realize this are combined,” said Yoon, the CEO of Evain.
