GL Chem, a Korean IT material and drug substance supplier in Korea, was designated as Samsung SDI's S-Partner. The S-Partner certification system is a comprehensive evaluation and certification system for spreading social responsibility in the supply chain that encompasses the labor, ethics, environment, and safety and health sectors as part of Samsung SDI's win-win program with suppliers.

The S-Partner certification is the program made by Samsung SDI for win-win relations with partner companies which is granted only to suppliers with a certain level or higher by conducting self-diagnosis and on-site inspection through check sheets for all suppliers. 

It is believed that being certified as a social responsible company by Samsung, a globally recognized company, will help strengthen global competitiveness in a society that strives to respond to climate change.

In addition, it is expected that GL Chem will be able to learn the know-how on maintaining and expanding the business as Samsung conducts various educational and diagnostic activities aimed at improving quality and productivity, nurturing human resources, and establishing a win-win culture.

Established in 2004, GL Chem is a company specializing in manufacturing IT materials, food additives and pharmaceutical ingredients, and its headquarters is located in Daejeon.

GL Chem's flagship products are as follows. First, binder for secondary battery is a device that is used to manufacture a secondary battery separator and a negative electrode, and serves as a bond to attach metals used in the separator and the negative electrode.

Second, various silicone emulsion products, which are functional high-tech materials added to daily life products, are applied to personal care products such as skin care, moisture cream, sun cream, color cosmetics, powder, lipstick, mascara, shampoo and deodorant. It has features that improve spreadability, prevent stickiness and give gloss. 

Lastly, it is CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose), a natural material that is added to food and pharmaceutical processes to improve the stability and functionality of the product. It is the only product manufactured in Korea, and its stability is guaranteed by obtaining KFDA approval.
