The Korea Automobile Research Center, which located in Jeongwang-dong, Sihung-si, was selected as the overall organizer of the 「Manufacturing Robot Leading Distribution Demonstration Project」 hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency.

Through this selected project, it is planned to support the fields of consulting, manufacturing robot supply demonstration, safety certification, and manpower training for selected demanding companies to strengthen the competitiveness of the automobile parts manufacturing industry and expand the manufacturing robot market.

In Sihung-si, six companies, including Kyungwon Industry Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of electronic parts and equipment, will participate in this project and receive 1 billion won in support for installation costs of manufacturing robots at production sites.

In addition, Kyungwon Industry was selected as the 2nd ‘100 Small and Medium Enterprises in Materials, Parts and Equipment Industry’ by the Gyeonggi Provincial Small and Medium Venture Business Administration in October 2020. The 100 Small Giants in the Materials/Parts/Equipment Industry is a project to enhance the technological independence of the materials/parts/equipment industry and to foster promising small and medium-sized enterprises that can contribute to the creation of new future industries.

The selected companies in Gyeonggi Province are 19 companies, including Kyungwon Industry (Sihung Electronic Components & Equipment), Nine Tech (Hwaseong Transport System Equipment), DR Tech (Seongnam X-ray Detector), HK (Hwaseong Cutting Machinery), OneST (Hwaseong LM Shaft), etc.

Kyungwon Industrial Co., Ltd., established in 1980, is a manufacturer of electronic components and mainly produces isotropic ferrite magnets. In particular, it is a promising venture company that invests more than 6% of its sales in R&D projects in the field of new materials such as piezoelectric ceramics and special magnetic materials.
