Biocorp has completed the development of 'Krill Oil 61', a highly concentrated krill oil with a phospholipid content of 61% or more, and started mass production.

CEO Noh Joo-wan said, "Phospholipids exceeding 60% have been considered 'a barrier of the Devil' in the industry. Biocorp broke this barrier for the first time in the world and succeeded in mass production."

Based on the krill oil analysis method (NMR Measurement Method) adopted by the International Food Standards Commission (CODEX) and the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), the previous highest content was 56%.

CEO Noh Joo-wan explained, "Like the 56% phospholipid product, the one with more than 61% are processed in their natural state without using any chemical solvents or harsh treatment processes that are harmful to the human body."

He added, "Biocorp has overcome technical barriers by applying our independently developed 'Hyper Purity' technology while maintaining a thorough cold chain throughout the entire process from fishing to oil production."

He emphasized, "Since the risk of rancidity increases rapidly after drying, it is important to minimize the time it takes to extract oil after drying and to keep it refrigerated."

Biocorp's krill oil uses only quick-frozen krill caught in the Antarctic Ocean by domestic shipping companies such as Dongwon and Jeongil. It is a 100% domestic product that all production processes from drying to extraction and refining are performed in a domestic factory. When extracting krill oil, grain fermented alcohol is used and other chemical solvents are not used.

The CEO said, "This year, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety conducted two real-time collection inspections of all krill oil products on the market, and there was no problem in any product using Biocorp krill oil. Products that only processed capsules were discovered in Canada.”

The domestic krill oil market is estimated to be worth about 300 billion won as of last year.
